Gensol Engineering Limited , a prominent name in the renewable energy sector known for its solar EPC and electric mobility solutions, has announced a major collaboration with Matrix Gas & Renewables Ltd., a fast-growing green hydrogen infrastructure developer and natural gas aggregator. The two companies have secured the contract to develop India’s first Green Hydrogen Valley project in Pune.

Under this agreement, the Gensol-Matrix partnership will establish a Green Hydrogen production plant on a Build Own and Operate (BOO) basis, with plans to supply Green Hydrogen to the specialty chemical sector. The project comes with a firm 20-year offtake agreement.

Anmol Jaggi, Managing Director of Gensol Engineering Ltd., expressed pride in leading this pioneering initiative. “We are thrilled to develop India’s first Green Hydrogen Valley project. The Government of India, through the Department of Science & Technology (DST), has taken crucial steps to promote hydrogen valleys, and we are excited to contribute by providing round-the-clock Green Hydrogen supply to the specialty chemical sector in Pune,” Jaggi said.

Chirag Kotecha, Whole-time Director of Matrix Gas and Renewables Ltd., highlighted the significance of this project for India’s green transition. “We are committed to supporting India’s net-zero targets as part of the National Green Hydrogen Mission. This project, facilitated by the National Chemical Laboratories (NCL) in Pune’s Kurkumbh region, will enable us to establish Green Hydrogen generation, applications, and R&D facilities. Our selection as the best bidder through a competitive tender process validates our technical and commercial strength,” Kotecha stated.

Both Gensol and Matrix, promoted by common stakeholders, will continue to collaborate on future ventures in Green Hydrogen and related fields such as Green Steel and Green Ammonia, leveraging their combined expertise.
